Dear Pablo and friends,

Monica here, bringing you some information about Phoebe. We both were at the V-E-T's office yesterday for our check up and we found out that Phoebe is not very well. She has lost a lot of weight since this time last year. She is down to 7.5 lbs which is 1 lb underweight. Since she is so floofy, no cat had noticed that she was getting to skinny until recently.

Well, my examination was over lickety split, but Phoebe was taken in the back room and torchured with a needle for a blood sample. The test showed that she is a little anemic and her liver tests are high. She has to go back on Monday for another test. In the meantime, Tracy is trying to coax her to eat anything that she will. We are getting to eat some of Joey's food, but Tracy doesn't let me eat as much of it as Phoebe. That doesn't seem quite fair to me, but oh well. She has also gotten to try some baby food turkey flavor, which I don't even get to taste. But Phoebe didn't take much of that. I offered to take it off Tracy's hands, but she said no.

So will everycat please send some extra purrs our way to help Phoebe get better? Thanks.

Awwww, Phoebe! We Ballicai are so sorry to hear that you're not feelin' good. We'll purr and purr and purr for you, and please keep effurybodies updated.

Here's some tippies fur helpin' Phoebe eat more: take some stinky goodness, her favrit flavur, or some yummy-flavured baby foodies and heat it inna microwave until it's nice and warm, but not too hot -- the warmth will make the foodies smell more, and a strong smell can be helpful in wakin up the appetite of a kitty who's feelin undur the weathur.

We love you kittygirls, and we'll be purrin and purrin and purrin for Phoebe!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that Phoebe isn't feeling well. I will be purring hard for her -- and another food idea is people tuna, with lots of tuna juice. When my brother Brainball was ill with bronchitis, he was tempted by tuna juice and warmed up stinky goodness. Smell is a very big deal to a kitty -- if it smells strongly enough, it will tempt us -- and if Phoebe has something like a bug or bronchitis or allergies, the smell factor might well be helpful in encouraging her to eat more.

Sending love and warm snuggles and purrs!

Phoebe! Oh my, we are so sorry you're not feeling well. I know my cats always put in an order for tuna juice when they aren't feeling like eating. When I make my kids their sandwiches for lunch, our sick kiddies get the juice over their food. Maybe let Tracy know about that trick as well. Please let us know how your next V-E-T visit goes. I hope there are no more shots.
