What's cookin'?

Hello everycat! I have an important announcement. I have decided what I want to do with my life. I am studying to be a chef. Chefs get to go on TV and do big competitions and win lots of money and have cooking shows and be very famous.

Hey! If he can do it, so can I!

Tonight, Denis and I are making top ramen noodle soup. You have to start somewhere, right? This is how you open up the package.

Next, we put a pot of water on to boil and add the noodles.

That's about all there is to it! This stuff is easy. I'm pretty sure that I'll be a chef before you know it!

Oh bother/ oh brother!

Hi Pablo and all my friends! I've been wanting to post something very special for a while. You see, Tracy bought the Pablo Fan Club a video recorder and we shot some action movies of me patrolling the grounds. But unfortunately, we can't get the video software to work so that we can edit all into a special movie for you. (that's the oh, bother part of this post) Here is the camera. Isn't it cool looking?

So, in the meantime, I caught Joey in a silly position! Look at him sitting perched on the edge of this box. That doesn't look very comfortable, Joey! (Oh brother!)

My Present!

Dear Pablo and everycat!

Lookit this here present that I got for Christmas this year! It was wrapped up in pretty paper! There were some weird big things in it that Tracy will put on her feets to walk in the snow or something weird like that! But I got this! Denis cutted a hole in it and made it a fort for me! It was a fun place to hide! Do you like it?

Hi there Mr. Pablo and everycat! It's me Joey. Look at how big I am getting. I am a big and strong mancat. Here are some pictures of me when I was just a little scrawny kid for comparison.

But even though I was scrawny, I was already a great mouse wrangler. There are lots of mouses in this place and I chase them and show them who is boss. What would these people do without ME around here?

Here I have just sub-dude another mouse that was trying to escape out the front door.

I don't know what this thing is, but it is a good thing to attack. I use the stick as my sword and chase the mouses with it.

Now I'm tired from just thinking about all those adventures. A mighty hunter does need his rest.

Update from Tracy: Phoebe and I went for a stroll outside today. Her harness is so big on her these days... The subQ fluids that she got at the vet's office seemed to give her a boost that she needed. She has eaten her new food better than she had been eating over the weekend. It may be my imagination, but it seems like I can already tell a little difference in the meat on her bones. As long as she doesn't take a turn for the worse, the plan is to go back in two weeks after the course of antibiotics is done so that she can get the blood work repeated. Until then, we just hope she keeps eating and gaining weight.

What we've been doing.

Dear Pablo and friends,

I am very sorry that Monica and I have not been blogging or visiting our friends' blogs lately. We have been so busy trying to keep that little Joey in line that we have been very distracted. We also had company for a little over a week this month and I was participating in all the activities. Monica was mostly hiding, but she claimed the people's laps when they would sit still and be quieter for a while. Joey has been tormenting me day and night because he always wants to play. He has demolished one of our mice - it was a wobbly mouse and fortunately, not one of my favorites. Here are some pictures of life around here for the last month or so.

I'm a Hero!

Hey, Mr. Pablo! Lookit what I got! This is an official membership into the cats of the revolution club and a hero handbook! What does this mean? I think it means that I am a very special boy. What a strange day I had...

The lady took me in my prisoner box in a moving machine. I was afraid that she was going to take me back because she didn't want me here anymore. First we did go back to the place where they torchured me before. But this time the people just looked at me and said nice things like "aren't you a lucky boy?" and "you are so cute!". I didn't have to come out and get torchured there. The lady put me back in the moving machine and we went to a new place. There, I did come out of the prison box. A new lady touched me and poked me and stuck something up my butt! But she said that I was healthy and very cute. And she was the one who gave me my HERO HANDBOOK! After that, the lady who lives here took me back home. YAY! I don't have to go to a new place.

I think that this book will tell me how to be a good kitten and get those lady cats to really like me.
But I can't read. Drat!

Later on, the lady put some goopy stuff onto my neck. She got it out of that box. Will it make me into a HERO? Thanks for your help.

Deep Thoughts

Dear Pablo and fan club members,

I have been thinking about this whole Joey situation and I have decided that I am going to be nicer to him. He is just a little kid and he doesn't have a mommy cat any more. Monica and I had this whole big house and our brand new big Outside territory. There is room enough to spare. Denis and Tracy sure like him, so he must not be too bad a kid. So I'm turning over a new leaf. I might be able to teach him a thing or two.

Plus, his food tastes really good.

He smells better now.

Dear Pablo and fan club members,

I've been working hard on getting that boy smell out of Joey. It's working pretty well.

I'm sure glad I thought of giving him a bath.

So if you have a stinky little boy move into your house, I recommend giving him a good lick-down to get rid of that smell.

I guess he's staying...

Dear Pablo and fan club members,

It looks like that little boy, Joey is staying here. Every person and cat seems to think that he is just so cute! Hmph! At least he smells less stinky because Monica has been giving him baths. I do get to taste some of his food whenever her eats, so that's not too bad. But I'm still keeping my eye on him.
And this toy is mine!

How YOU doin'?

Hello. I am Joey. I'm new around here and I have some questions.

1. Do I get to stay here?

2. Who is Pablo?

3. Can this lady cat by my new mommy? (she's nice)

4. Why doesn't this lady cat like me?

5. What can I do to make friends with her?

6. Can I keep this man? He is really nice.

7. What is the cat blogosphere?

8. What is that red light that runs around at night?

9. Why can't I catch it?

Thirteen Things - Joey

Dear Pablo and fan club members,

Thank you all for the excellent suggestions and tips. You all asked so many questions about Joey that Phoebe and I did some research to find out more about him.

And so I present to you: 13 Interesting Things about Joey

1. He smells funny. Now that Pablo has explained to me that it is just boy smell, I have decided that we can live with that. Afterall, Pablo is a boy too.
2. He is about 3 months old.
3. He has already had his hooha-ectomy.
4. He is FIV and feline leukemia negative.
5. He used to live out in the wild with his mom and all his brothers and sisters.
6. He was caught so that he could have a hooha-ectomy and he was supposed to go back out in the wild.
7. They clipped one of his ears at the V-E-T's office so they would know he had been there before if he ever came back.
8. He decided that he liked the people and didn't want to go back with his family.
9. He could have gotten eaten by a cougar out there.
10. He doesn't have a mommy cat anymore.
11. He is rather polite and not too pushy in trying to be friends with us.
12. His special kitten food is really yummy. Phoebe can steal it out of his bowl through the prison box window.
13. He looks a bit like Pablo, don't you think?

I guess he's not too bad, but I'm still gonna keep my eye on him.
